Hi, My Name is Faith
I am a Spoken Word Poet, Teaching Artist, and Ayurvedic Counselor. I use the knowledge that I have in Mind Body Centering and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to present my audience and students with the proper tools to make it to tomorrow and beyond.

My purpose as a Teaching Artist, is to provide a safe space for students to face themselves, and be okay.
I accomplish this with students through Interactive Literacy workshops that address Social-Emotional Learning needs through Activity-based learning.
The first time I performed poetry for a classroom, a young girl came up to me in tears. She could not speak, she wrote me a letter. She said that she’d been struggling with feeling heard and my words allowed for her to hear herself for the first time in a really long time.
That was the moment I realized how needed this work is, in schools especially.

Ayurveda - the science of life.
Ayurveda is a whole-body (holistic) system of medicine that began in India more than 3,000 years ago. Ayurveda mostly uses nutrition, lifestyle changes, and natural treatments to balance the 5 elements that make up our mind, body, and soul.
I graduated from the Narayana Institute of Vedic Arts & Sciences, under the direction of Dr. Monica B. Groover, and a pledge to use the knowledge that I have to heal and balance others.
